Jodi Plecity

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Jodi Plecity and I grew up in Valley City North Dakota and spent a lot of my childhood on my Grandparents dairy farm growing up near Dazey, ND.  I personally wouldn't have wanted any other way of life! I believe hand digging potatoes, picking eggs from the chicken coop, shoveling cow manure and watching my grandmother in her dress and head bandana on her knees in the garden taught me to do the hard and messy jobs and that anything is possible with perseverance. My parents have always been hard working, ethical people and I even helped my mother run and WIN for Valley City Commissioner. I have lived in Fargo for the last 20 plus years, living east coast and west coast and eventually drawn back to this area because I absolutely LOVE the hardworking, ethical people!

I always had a passion for building and creating things from scratch and I was never afraid to jump outside of my comfort zone to do it. If someone told me NO, it made me work even harder to find a way. That eventually turned into starting multiple businesses over the last 20 years and then turned me into a serial entrepreneur and the Co-founder of a couple of local non-profits which help people heal from traumatic life events.

MY BIO

Entrepreneur and businesswoman Jodi Plecity built 4 successful businesses: Intense LLC, Intense Trucking LLC, Intense Collision Center Inc, Lakemode Liquors, through mental fortitude, keen business strategy, and never-back-down work ethic. In the process,

Jodi went through a complete life change – losing over 150lbs through diet and exercise, “finally understanding what it was like to be healthier and pain-free”, there she found the desire and motivation in helping others achieve the same success that she did.  Jodi’s education experience includes graduating from Valley City High School in Valley City, ND while continuing her education in Oak Harbor, WA.  She was also employed in many different types of working environments, to include the SBA processing small business loans, PepsiAmercas in Human Resource Management and Integreon as a Project Lead, a leading global provider of legal outsourcing services.

Jodi also enjoys spending time with her nephew, volunteering helping those in need, attending inspirational learning events and connecting with the positive change-makers. Her personal activities include, cooking healthy for friends and family, powerlifting, reading, music, travel, learning martial arts and just relaxing on a beach somewhere soaking up the sun or anything that makes her a healthier person.  In the Spring of 2019, Jodi sold Lakemode Liquors, Headquarters in Osgood to Coburns while still maintaining ownership of her West Fargo location. With this sale, she reallocated her resources towards research into starting her non-profit foundation. In the Winter of 2021, she sold her other location as well.  This sale gave her the ability to run for City Commission.

Currently, Jodi is working on developing Peoples Rising Academy to bring health and happiness to those who have suffered through physical medicine, nutrition, and rehabilitation.  She is also the Co-Founder of the Garden of Healing, being built by the Scheels Arena to bring a safe, community space in nature for a walk of reflection and healing.  Also, most recently she is running for a seat on the City of Fargo Commission this June and just got nominated for the YWCAs Women of the Year.
